Yes, it applies at breeding season too - only one stone of each type (Muse, Maze, and Myst types). So you CAN use an Imperial blue with a Mottle stone, because they're different types, but you couldn't use a the Blue with the Rose because they're both in the same group. You can see the different types here: www.kalidore.com/?page_id=372 Are there some minor exceptions to this in the case of some muse stones? I recall seeing the coutershade stone and pale amber stone used in combination with the roseblush or imperial blue. Examples: i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm39/KalidoreUnicorns/J-L/LostDollie/Azulien.png i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm39/KalidoreUnicorns/S-U/Sweet%20Intoxikation/Jiao.png I am assuming those were okay combinations since they were just changing the tint of the underlying colors/modifiers, and not mixing them into a new color? Just wanted to clarify in preparation for the next gathering time :-) Asperi, the Starburst Stone would be needed to provide those distinct, contrasty dapples and "lighting" streaks you're describing. I absolutely don't mind throwing in some "health dapples" with any base colour, but if you have something really distinct in mind, you might want to save it for when Regular Customs open up. Let me know how you'd like to proceed with this one *facepalm* I always mix up the names and stone types, and after double checking I now realize the the Starburst stone is a Maze type stone, not muse. I wanted something more on the natural side of things, but definitely wanted the more distinct dapples created by the starburst stone. So, I will save this form, and re-submit for a regular custom :-D I will get my other idea typed up and posted shortly, and remove the other form so it doesn't cause any confusion!

At the beginning we were unsure where to file Countershade, and it got bumped around a bit; I'm still not 100% sure it fits the Muse type entirely, but that's where it's sitting for now XD And I know in earlier breeding seasons there were clarity issues over what goes with what - so that is why we have distinct categories and guidelines to make it easier for everyone to follow. It's just too confusing to say "you can combine these, but not these, even though they're almost the same", so stating "only one per group" is a good way to make it work better over all. Clarity is a good thing XD This isn't to say it won't ever be revisited; plus, you CAN "combine" stones by using Kal's Blessing at breeding to "capture" the mare's colour and then further apply stones to the foal - that has been done several times in the past with fantastic results Besides - the instructions say "any Earth Stone of Muse Type" not "all ze stones!". I didn't think I had to make that any more clear XD The hope behind these customs were to allow as many people as possible to get one inexpensively, and to still provide a lot of depth and colour without "patterns and designs so complicated fingers fall off" XD I think that was a fair call to make

Awesome, thanks for the clarification the the breeding/stone combinations :-)
And its not problem at all for me to change my custom idea, seeing as I have lots, haha! I completely missed that it said must stone only, and then completely mixed up what stones are considered muse, so my fault entirely! I should have the new form posted shortly, just looking for pattern idea pictures now :-)
Before I post my next form, I see that only moderate appy patterns are okay. Would Snowflake or Fewspot be considered moderate? or are they a little too loud and/or detailed to be okay for these? (those are some of the few appy patterns I don't yet have). I am thinking I want a mahogany bay with an appy pattern of some sort, just gotta figure out which pattern fits in the parameters :-)

*G* That's why I listed the stones in the form - I'm truly trying to make it easier on everyone! XD As for patterns, moderate isn't so much about the type or amount of white, it's more about how complicated the pattern itself is. If you're unsure, just post up the pictures in question

*Blushes* I know, and if I read instead of getting ahead of myself and skimming it never would have been an issue. I am reading much more carefully now! :-) And I think you already answered my question as far as complexity goes, but I will post pictures anyways just to be sure: Pretty sure this would fall into the "snowflake" category, and I am guessing it is more complex than these customs were meant for And I am fairly certain this would be a few-spot appy with a little extra color on the neck, seems like it would be a simpler pattern to create Once you let me know for sure which is okay (or if both are then I have the tough decision of which to pick!) I will have my custom for posted and ready to go! :-)

Ack, I never replied to this and I thought I did XD Sorry bout that! YEs - the first one is a bit intense with his flecks and roaning throughout, so that would bump him out of moderate. The second one isn't a problem

Awesome! The form is pretty much done then, but it is on my other computer XD. So I will get it copied, pasted, and sent to you before I go to bed tonight. Thanks so much for the help in getting it all sorted! :-)

Owner's Name: Asperi Unicorn's Name: Fenella (Means "fair/white shouldered") Pose: Graceful Mare Basic Coat Colour: Bay Modifier (if desired): Appaloosa (Fewspot) I was thinking a dark mahogany bay with almost a reddish tint to the coat like this guy: With a FewSpot appy pattern like this: Facial Markings: Facial markings similar to the pattern picture provided would be great! Leg Markings: Leg markings similar to the pattern picture provided would be great! Any other details? Very pale blue eyes and jewel I will get a name picked after work, today, but this way you can at least get started on the coloring! :-)

Lectral, looks good! Angel, that horse is a silver dapple tobiano, not a snowflake appaloosa He would need a starburst stone, which isn't available for these customs; really complicated patterns aren't simply so Whimsy can get through all these without fingers falling off XD Find a picture of what you'd like first, and we'll go from there.
